Thailand Must-Haves

Look It's Brooke | 6 Thailand Must Haves | www.lookitsbrookeblog.com

After researching like crazy and then spending a few weeks in Thailand, there are just a few things that are must-haves when traveling there.

1. Bug Repellent

Mosquitoes are abundant in such a hot, humid place.  I highly recommend these bands to wear all day, this repellent for your room, these dots for your clothes and this spray as your back-up if those things aren’t working for you.

2. Mosquito bite aftercare

If you do you happen to get bit, I love this zapper.  It takes the itch away somehow with just tiny zap.  Don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt and it doesn’t need batteries and it’s so tiny, it’s easy to stick in your bag.

3. The perfect bag

For traveling, my favorite go to is this cross body from Lululemon.  It has a ton of pockets and a secret pocket that I keep passports in.  I prefer wearing a crossbody bag over wearing a backpack because it is safer from pickpockets.  You should always have your valuables in front of you, not behind.  That could make you an easy target.  I also love carrying this pick pocket proof bag when I need to take more things with me for the day.  You can even fit a whole guide book in it!  The best thing about it is that it is “slash proof” and the clasps and zippers have locks on them so you feel completely safe carrying it.

4. An umbrella

It not only rains in Thailand but it can be overwhelmingly sunny too.  Always carry an umbrella with you simply for shade.  I really love this umbrella because it is compact, light weight and totally durable.

5. A scarf for covering up

You never know when a temple is going to require you to be more modest than you are.  Be sure to always carry a scarf with you so that you don’t end up paying for clothes outside of tourist site.  You will end up paying 10 times the amount that you would anywhere else!  This scarf is a good one and I really like this one too.  And a light kimono like this one is a great idea too.

6. Sunscreen

I am a big believer in sunscreen.  And Thailand is definitely a place where you will need it.  I really love this one because it is so light.  I also swear by this cc cream for my face which has a great spf in it.

I hope you have found this helpful and definitely check out my What to Wear in Phuket post for help on knowing what to pack.
